Cowthick Plantation
Retaining the Cowthick Plantation in its entirety is essential to protect existing habitats and ensure a continuous green corridor for wildlife between Laundimer Wood to the east and Stanion Lane Plantation to the west. This work is already underway and aligns with the North Northamptonshire Joint Planning Unit’s (JPU) Green Infrastructure Delivery Plan and contributes to the strategic green infrastructure along Harper’s Brook.
Improving connectivity across the development area is crucial to provide an easily accessible network of green infrastructure for staff and public use. Existing hedgerows and tree planting along site boundaries will be retained to take advantage of established green corridors. These connections will be enhanced by creating a new, continuous landscape buffer along the site boundary.

A new landscaped green link will be created through the center of the development to serve as a wildlife corridor, improve the quality of the public realm, and contribute to a more accessible green infrastructure network. The existing ecological resources will be integrated into the green infrastructure strategy to ensure a net gain across the development.
Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) will be incorporated into the green infrastructure to maximize their biodiversity and amenity benefits.
