Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
As part of global Environmental, Social and Governance considerations, GLP aim to minimise resource use and environmental footprint by minimising impacts linked to water consumption, emissions and waste generation. GLP invests in energy efficiency measures, capital improvements and new technologies that will improve the performance of developments.
GLP review ESG criteria when selecting building materials, favouring materials that are resource-efficient, recycled, upcycled, and preferably, sourced locally. These considerations and approaches enable GLP to incorporate green building standard requirements into most assets under planning and construction and seek green building certifications.
Efficiency & Sustainability
- Maximised natural lighting for cost cutting, health and well-being, and LED lights for all artificial lighting.
- Inclusion of photovoltaics and solar thermal heating to cut costs and carbon emissions.
- Harvesting rainwater to reduce dependency on local water supply and using ‘grey’ water for toilets, irrigation and washing vehicles.
- Using analytics to monitor the lighting systems to reduce costs and improve environmental impact of the site.
Magna Park Corby Units 2 & 3
GLP has received BREEAM “Outstanding” certifications for two units located at Magna Park Corby. BREEAM certification is awarded on a scale that reacts to the level of environmental performance achieved by buildings. BREEAM Outstanding, which requires a minimum score of 85%, is the highest rating achievable. The BREEAM Outstanding rating also puts these buildings in the top 1% of BREEAM assessed industrial buildings within the UK.
