As part of the phase 1 application, GLP was required to assess 29 junctions on the local road network. (Displayed on the map to the right.)
How we assess whether a junction requires mitigation work:
Criteria agreed with the council was used for each of the junctions that considered forecast future year traffic flows, with and without the development proposal, as well as consideration of the existing operation of the junctions in question.
KEY:
Orange – Adverse Material Impact Requiring Mitigation Works.
Green – No Adverse Material Impact.
Junction Improvements to be delivered
Following completion of the detailed design and technical approval process the site access works are nearing completion, whilst this process for the wider mitigation works (see map to the left) is in its final stages with construction of the mitigation works expected during the remainder of this year. As part of the new outline application, a further scoping study has been undertaken with North Northamptonshire Council’s highways department with the forthcoming Transport Assessment being led by the agreed scope of assessment to be undertaken, including a review of all the junctions previously assessed as part of the Phase 1 Transport Assessment.
